Impact100 Atlanta Awards $130,000 Inaugural Grant to The Study Hall

Atlanta, GA, –   A form of high impact women’s philanthropy that is growing across the country just made its first mark in Atlanta. On November 3rd, Impact100 Atlanta awarded its inaugural grant of $130,000 to The Study Hall to fund their project, “Away We Grow: A New Home for The Study Hall”. This project will furnish a new space for the local nonprofit, allowing it to double the number of Atlanta K-5th graders served by its afterschool educational and enrichment curriculum.

The model and mission of Impact100 Atlanta are simple – women come together, each donating $1,000, to fund transformational grants to nonprofits in their local community. 100% of each member’s donation goes directly to fund the grant, which is awarded by a vote of the membership.

In Impact100 Atlanta’s inaugural year, 130 visionary women joined together as Founding Members to fund a single $130,000 high impact grant to support an Atlanta based nonprofit organization.  Grant applications were accepted from nonprofits in the Greater Atlanta area in five focus areas: Arts & Culture; Education; Family; Health & Wellness; and Environment. Grant finalists were selected through a vigorous application and vetting process by member committees. At the Annual Meeting on November 3rd, the finalists presented and the grant recipient was selected by a vote of the entire membership.  One woman, one vote — one incredible impact.

At the first annual meeting, Founding president Sarah Levitt said, “While it’s important to be present tonight and celebrate our $130,000 grant, we are also so excited for the future and hope to continue to fund more and more grants in the community each year. Our ultimate goal is to fund grants in all five focus area categories each year. There is no limit to our growth and the positive effect we can have on the Atlanta community.“

Impact100 Atlanta is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization. Membership is open to all women and those identifying as women over the age of 18 who share our vision and commitment to funding transformational grants to improve lives in the Atlanta community.
