The vision to start Impact100 Atlanta began in January 2021, when Founding President Sarah Levitt was inspired by her mother and grandmother’s involvement in their Impact100 chapter. Sarah reached out to global Impact100 and was connected with Shannon McClure, who had previously applied for an Impact100 grant in Fairfield County, CT. Together, they built the infrastructure and enlisted the assistance of other amazing women in the community to create a supportive Board of Directors. This enabled the Impact100 Atlanta dream to become a reality. Impact100 Atlanta strives to empower a diverse local group of women of all ages, stages in life, income levels, and backgrounds to come together and fund transformational grants of $100,000 in the greater Metro Atlanta area.
Since then, the Atlanta group that you are now a part of has been steadily growing and learning from other Impact100 chapters around the country.
The national Impact100 Council has been helping chapters get up and running through word-of-mouth and national meetings at which ideas are shared. This past year, Impact100 Global employed the services of a national marketing and branding agency to more formally align the chapters into a global entity. The goal is to promote, through media and public relations, the global influence and achievements of the more than 65 chapters (and growing) around the world. Your Demo chapter is joining forces with other chapters to promote the collective impact of all Impact100 chapters and to take advantage of the momentum the national organization is developing.
